Make sure that NetBIOS is enabled over TCP/IP - this was the cause of my problems:
- Network Connections
- Right click network card and select Properties
- Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click properties button
- On the General tab click the Advanced button
- Select the WINS tab
Make sure 'Disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP' in NOT selected. Either of the other options is fine.
